Blind Spot Monitors Can Keep You Safer

When you're traveling around town, things can change at any time. Not only do you have to look out for objects in front of you, but you also have to be aware of vehicles in your blind spot. With a blind spot monitor, you can gain an extra pair of eyes. These systems are available on many of the vehicles at Tim Short Acura.

Blind spot monitoring systems use sensors embedded in vehicles. These sensors detect the presence of vehicles in your blind spot, and they can then alert you so that hopefully you don't change lanes at the wrong time.

Most systems use visual alerts in the form of a warning light being turned on in your side mirror. Some systems can come with tactile and auditory alerts. If your turn signal is on, they can briefly vibrate your steering wheel and/or emit a beeping noise so that you don't make the wrong move.
